My lil' Companion

By definition -

com.pan.ion -

1.  A person or animal with whom one spends a lot of time or with whom one travels.

2.  A covering over the hatchway leading below decks

Now, I am pretty certain that Soren hasn't been covering any decks below - anywhere, at least I don't think he is...

...so I will say, he is my companion, my lil' person that a spend A LOT of time and travel with - thankfully!  My partner in crime, by bubbie, my sweet lil' dude - the coolest adventure seeking buddy ever.  And last week - we adventured.  Places of note! - Soren's first visit to the Cincinnati Art Museum and a playground!  We found a playground near by in Oakley and I don't know if he had more fun watching people play tennis or trying to run into the street (yikes!) - but none the less, we had a ball.

The Art Museum, however was a bit more give and take.  For instance, I thought he would really dig the Nick Cave exhibit, you know, big life size stuffed animal looking things - which was truly pretty cool, but it absolutely frightened him.  However! - the wonderful Monet exhibit really caught his eye.  He pointed and talked while staring at Water Lilies - it was priceless.  That wasn't all - we then passed the Pablo Picasso exhibit, he actually pleased and pointed - wanting to stay to check it out!  How cool!  All the lines and simple drawings may have been more infant-tastic, either way - he loved it.  So there you have it Uncle Derek - we have another Picasso lover in the family.
nick cave pieces - you can see why this frightened him, but are still so cool!

So much so! when we passed the gift shop, he just HAD to have a Pablo doll from the Unemployed Philosophers Guild (which if you haven't heard of this yet - check it out!  So cool!) and a Hello, Picasso! Book.  Seriously - no encouragement.  He grabbed these right away and signed please.  So, pardon the pun - I took it as a sign and now I have to read that book about 20 times a day.

Love it!

Parks and art museums...They were my favorite places to take you and Derek. I'm so happy to hear Soren loves both. And I'm happy to hear he's already developing his art appreciation and sense of adventure. You couldn't ask for a better companion! Love

Do you know that the Contemporary Arts Center has children's programming? They have Thursday Art Play every Thursday morning at 1030a, and Family Saturday every fourth saturday from 1-4p. Art and fun in the UnMuseum! Might be worth checking out.....:)
